INTRODUCTION

Air pollution is a growing threat to human health & our environment across the world.

It is described as contamination of atmosphere by gaseous , liquid , chemicals , particulates or biological materials that can cause discomfort , disease etc to humans.

Primarily affects body's respiratory & cardiovascular system.

Emerging economy has enabled the rapid growth of industrial units & subsequent emission of untreated gaseous pollutant is making the situation worse.

IMPORTANCE

1.HEALTH : Bad air cost US over $ 150 billion per year, kills 10,000 per year.

* WHO reported that in 2012 around 7 million people died as a result of air pollution exposure.

2.ECOLOGICAL HARM: ozone layer, global warming, acid rain , smog on plants.

3.PROPERTY HARM: erosion of buildings
