1) Qualifications to hold the office of Governor :-
The qualification of Governor varies from state to state. But in general most of the states require candidates to hold the U.S. citizenship. The candidate needs to be of certain age so to be eligible to be a voter and for a certain number of years before the election. Such as California needs citizen to be up to 5 years whereas Maine needs to be a U.S. citizen for at least 15 years etc.
2) Some of the governor's elected to be Chief executive officers of the states and territories. The chief executives makes the policies, determines the budget, has the right to propose the legislative measures etc.
