Answer #1

Distance to travel = D = 483 miles

Average of your car = A = 31.7 miles/gallon

Volume of gasoline needed for the trip = V

V = 15.236 gallons

Cost of gasoline = R = 2.9 dollars per gallon

Money needed for gas for the trip = C

C= VR

C = (15.236)(2.9)

C = 44.19 dollars

Money needed for gas to get to Saginaw = 44.19 dollars
