First of all let us understand what SIS (Strategic Information System) is and how does it apply in organizations.
Strategic Information System can be defined as a computer system that helps managers in implementing business strategies. The development of SIS always makes a positive impact on the growth and operations of the organizations when correctly implemented.
The recommendations are to be taken care in regard to the approach of SIS are as below:
Financial Systems : These systems are to be taken care and they include the basic computerization of accounts, budgeting and other financial related operations in the organization. Financial systems should be dealt correctly since they are the basses for all the other systems and also they are in a position to supply the figures related to financial data of each department and their success.
Operational Systems : These type of systems vary with the type of organizations / business. They are also called as operational systems. They help the managers in controlling the details of the business. They are also very important since they effects strategic certainty of the business.
Strategic Systems : These systems create a bridge between the business and computer strategies. By use of information technology they are able to implement business strategies.
Irrespective of the above things, porter's competitive advantage model shall also be taken care in the Strategic Information Systems.
Concluding , SIS play a very crucial role in implementing strategies in to the business environment with the help of information technology and internet available on the market.
