• Three important ideas/ concept in microbiology are:

1):

• Microbes are used in genetic engineering to make the transgenic microbes.
• Transgenic microbes are those microbes which contain genes that produce useful products.
• For example: one of the bacterial strain produces human insulin which is use to treat diabetes , that could lead to the death of large number of person.

2):

• The second is microbial ecology. This is important because it is use to study interaction of microbes with environment. '
• The microbes are very important part of ecosystem and involved with many ecological process like pollution, climate change, study of relationship of organism and study of biogeochemical life- cycle.

3):

• Microbiology is use to study evolution which is the process of gradual change in an organism.
• Microbes are best organism to study the evolution because they are present from the origin of Earth till now
• They are associated with various functions. They could range from autotrophic to heterotrophic.
