Immigration became frequent in the United States in the late 1800s. During this time people from parts of the world decided to leave their homes and immigrate to the United States. Since most of the immigrants saw America saw as an economic opportunity, they escaped their homelands from land and job shortages, rising taxes, and famine. For others, it was freedom or relief from political and religious persecution. Immigration contributed to the culture of America in different ways. First, it led to a more diverse economy, jobs and more innovation. United states workforce saw educated people. Immigrants from Germany, Ireland, and England created greater occupational specialization. This led to higher overall economic productivity. The cultural space and exchanges between the locals and the immigrants made the United States a Multicultural country.
