Answer #1

Widely used biocides are dangerous to frogs and other amphibians because they result in the reduction of their reproductive capacity, thus reduce their population and makes them vulnerable and weak. Also biocides are permeable to the skin of frog and other amphibians, which is indirectly very detrimental as it modifies their way of behaving. Some biocides prompt the immunosuppressive effect, while others retards metamorphosis in amphibians. In this way, biocides decrease the growth and development rate of amphibians and makes them prone to various diseases. So, the widespread use of biocides in agriculture and other fields must be redcued to below economic threshold level and facilitate free living of amphibians.
