Similarities in salary schedules and compensation

• All the six organizations have starting base salary which can be divided into annual, monthly and hourly salary.
• The base salary has a scope for improvement year on year based on certain parameters.
• Their is a portion of salary which is contributed to the benefits portion and includes insurance, terminal benefits etc.

Differences in salary schedules and compensation:

• In the two local government organization , movement from one base pay to the next level of base pay is based on performance. In the Non Governmental organization, the upward movement from one base pay to the next base pay depends not only on the performance but also on the performance of the organization. In state government organization , the upward movement in base pay is automatic based on number of years worker.
• The base pay varies from designation to designation based on the complexity of the job. The concept of standard job wise base pay is well defined in case of local government and state governments but not so in the case of non government organizations.
• The amount of medical benefits, terminal benefits and insurance is more for state government organizations , lesser for local government organization and least for the non governmental organizations.
