Answer #1

Ans) Given,

Detention time = 5hr

K = 6 mg/L-hr

Cin = 20mg/L

We know,

td = (1/K Cout )( Cin/Cout) -1 )

5 = (1/ 6 Cout )( 20/Cout -1)

On solving, Cout = 60 mg/L

Now, concentration at long period of time, C

C = Cout e-Kt

C = 60 e-6x 0

C = 60 mg/L

    10. Write a one-page summary of the attached paper? INTRODUCTION Many problems can develop in activated sludge operation that adversely affect effluent quality with origins in the engineering, hydraulic and microbiological components of the process. The real "heart" of the activated sludge system is the development and maintenance of a mixed microbial culture (activated sludge) that treats wastewater and which can be managed.
