Lewin's Theory of planned change:
Change is an important component of practicing changes that have to be done within the group. This theory consists of a three-stage model of changes like the Unfreezing-change-refreezing model to identify the factors with the situation. This theory focuses on leaders to fulfill with the knowledge and replace it with new information. It focuses on more roles and responsibilities of the change agent than the process of the change. There are seven-step model process affected by the change during planning are
- Assessing the problem,
-Assessing the motivation of the change agent,
-Change objectives and strategies,
-determining the role of the change agent, maintaining the change
-Terminating the helping relationship as the change part of the culture
All together it focuses on communication skills, rapport building, problem-solving strategies and mechanism for feedback.
In the unfreezing stage where the desire to change occurs, it maintains current behavior with the current situation, changes occur through reeducation, dialogue, team building, personal development.
In the change stage process of change like thoughts, feeling, behavior the way people involved to target change.
In the Refreezing stage with a new process standard operating procedure with the old way of doing things. This is the part of the normal working procedure followed by a support mechanism like policy, rewards, ongoing support for the personal way. This force field analysis as a part of the Lewin theory helps to change the direction for diagnosing situations and managing changes within the community. Human behavior caused by forces like beliefs, cultural norms and expectations within the society. Lewin's change theory is a lack of accountability for the interaction of the individual, group, and society, interprofessional collaboration can address the topic, adding condition make a favourable change, change can be achieved either by weakening the restraining forces or strengthening the driving forces. change theory support to move beyond equilibrium and evaluate the impact of any restraining forces. Moving with the unfreezing-changing-refreezing process can support the change.
