Answer #1

The Equal Pay Act of 1963 states that companies provide the same pay to men and women who are considered to have the same job description or position. The Age Discrimination and Employment Act was passed in 1967 and amended in 1986. This law prohibits discrimination against employees who are of 40 years of age or older. The Pregnancy Discrimination Act of 1979 protects women from being refused a promotion, turned away from a job, or let go from a company solely because they are pregnant. The Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990 protects individuals with disabilities from being treated unfairly in the workplace. It is also requires organizations to make reasonable accommodations for their disabled employees. The Civil Rights Act Of 1991 was passed to make it easier for employees who felt discriminated against to go ahead and take legal action against their employees. In other word, most discrimination lawsuit would now require proof from the employer rather than the employee.
