This assignment intends to use your overall acquired knowledge about human mind and behavior in order to design a plan for initiating changes and persuading beneficial social behavior in society. You can use both research and theories discussed during the semester and/or any other reliable sources in order to back up the designed strategies, techniques, and activities.

You are required to think of ways to change the following behavior:

Pure water is one of the important sources of life on earth. Nevertheless, many people waste water. How can you encourage people (beginning from your own community/college/neighborhood/family members) to alter their habits and probably lifestyle, so that they consume less water?

In proposing your plan, you must back up the choice of strategies with research. Explain clearly what you intend to do. Have the below mentioned steps in mind:

a.       Identify the problem area in an introduction. Refer to problems that we face in many countries originated from the lack of water.

b.      Identify your goal and state your plan briefly.

c.       Decide and state how to measure the extent to which the goal is achieve. In this particular case, for example, the electricity & water bill should show reduced fees. Also, the questionnaire or interviews’ responses can be analyzed.

d.      Explain in detail and illustrate your actions and strategies step by step especially those which you are going to use to encourage a particular change in the attitude or behavior. For example, explain which principle of argument/persuasion you would use. Also, if you want to have an awareness presentation, you must include the PowerPoint or the speech you prepared. The same rule goes for questionnaires or interviews you intend to carry out to your target group to see how much water they use daily/weekly/monthly.

e.      Analyze the gathered data.

f.        Conclude and recommend.

Yes, Pure water is one of the biggest challenges in the present and countries are fighting to provide their citizens in the whole part of the world.

a) In many parts of the world, people do not bother much about the water seriously and they use pure water in different works such as

• cleaning
• agricultural
• vehicle washing
• and many other works

While doing this, there is a large amount of pure water we are loosing and this is day by day.

b) My plan is to lessen the other use apart from drinking and some other activities.

c) We can achieve our goal only by making citizens aware of these precious natural resources and taking some of the simple steps which are as follows:

• By making people aware of this natural resource
• by the policies of state government
• by taking heavy tax and many more.

d) It is seen in the world that there is people do not care about the water use at home especially cleaning, cooking and while bathing.

We need to change our behavior regarding these usages and there should be a meter system to check our usages of water and there should be an appropriate measure to check all these.

And most importantly, we need to change our mindset about water usage and we need to think always when we use this natural resource.
