Libertarians favor no government.They do not support government interventions beyond the protection of property rights.They argue that the government should take some actions to ensure that there is equality among citizens. Although they are in favor of capitalism they do not want a completely free market. They want the rich people to pay more tax than the poor,government to spend more on education and to expand civil liberties.
On the other hand the socialist are in favor of high degree of government intervention.They advocate strong federal leadership.If we go to see, most socialist in United Nations are democratic that want to preserve American traditions.Moreover,socialism challenges in the free market economy that is the market decides the prices of goods not the government.
