Lot of research have demonstrated the relation between education and positive patient outcomes. The study says nurses with Bachelor of Nursing decreases patient mortality i.e 10% improvement with 10% increase in BSC Nurses.People undergoing surgeries are of high risk. They need atmost care as they are very easily prone to infections from the hospital.Such situation required coordination with medical team including the nurses.
Education helps in such situation.by improving the communication. When quick action is needed, surgeons work on a common goal which is followed by these nurses as well. This helps in quick recovery of the patient.
JAMA surgery study revealed two findings:hospitals with improved nursing environment(Focal Hospitals) have lower failure to rescue rates compared with other non focal hospitals.Patient in ICU was lesser in Focal hospitals.Putting together all these encourage higher nursing education which leads to positive patient outcomes.I agree to JAMA surgery study.Nurses with strong communication skills and educational background can positively affect prevention procedure and helps patient to follow the instruction of the nurses efficiently.
