Answer #1

Answer: During the early nineteenth century the Second Great Awakening was a Protestant revival movement. As the incorporation of new territories into the Union exacerbated sectional tensions, the slavery issue dominated New England intellectual circles. In addition to a religious movement, other reform movements such as temperance, abolition, and women's rights also grew in antebellum America and also there was a rise in the religious thoughts and women equality reforms.
