6) a) The no of peaks obtained in 1H NMR will be equivalent to the no of different types of protons present in the system. Total 5 peaks will be obtained in the 1H NMR of this molecule. Out of them , three are for aromatic protons.

b) The expected delta shift for the -OCH3 will be 3.83 . This is so because , the methyl group will have higher shift due to the electronegative oxygen atom and the aromatic system.
