Answer #1

Usually the capacity of a process is kept as fixed so that the measurement of capacity in the input process gets facilitated. When the user is determining the input measure, a fixed capacity facilitates in maintaining accuracy of measurements in the overall process. If the capacity is kept variable, it will vary with time and external factors. Maintaining process and system accuracy in such a scenario can be quite difficult.

Example of using fixed capacity in common life is the number of rooms in a hotel, the number of seats in a cinema theatre, etc. This fixed capacity helps in evaluating the occupancy of the overall hotel or theatre accordingly.
