The importance of the introduction of Hospital Consumer Assessment of Healthcare Providers and Systems (HCAHPS ) in the hospitals. (will be writing a four page paper, want this as a good introduction) My details will be based off adequate staffing, team work, staff incentives and pain management.

Hospital Consumer Assessment of Healthcare Providers and Systems (HCAHPS) in hospitals is a survey related to the patient satisfaction which is required by the Centres for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMMS) in United States. The main aim of the survey to standardized, experience of inpatient, modern survey tools and new data collection techniques. HCAHPS can improves the quality and safety of healthcare services in the USA and to make the transform for the business of hospitals management. The major objectives of the system are to improves the quality of inpatients in the hospitals through:

- To follow all the objectives and comparisons between different hospitals for the common public reporting.

- To enhance the responsibilities of hospital and encouragements for quality improvement.

- To increase the responsibility of common public through increased transparency in the system.

- To make the hospitals to link reimbursement for the quality concert.

The survey can be performed through the different ways such as Mail. Telephone, Mail with phone follow-up, Active interactive voice recognition. For the HCAHPS survey participation each hospital can be act as self-administer. To fulfil HCAHPS guidelines which is monitored by CMS, must follow the standardized data collection process. The process includes the following points which need high attention. To get randomized survey sample of discharged patients from the hospitals; To ministering the survey instrument with patient satisfaction related to the quality and safety provided by the hospitals; To analyses the collected data with systematics way; The observed results should be showed to public; To give some major suggestions for the improvement in the healthcare. The survey must cover the major health related issued such as pain management, medication instructions, provider communication, cleanliness of the environment and discharge information. communication with doctors, behaviour of the hospital management. To ensure fair and accurate comparisons across hospitals, all the hospitals are stimulated to review their survey results and fulfil the remaining in the hospitals for the better performance and patient care.
