You are the administrator of a 250-bed hospital. A recent report from the county tells you that the population within a 25-mile radius of your facility is getting younger—the median age in the area has decreased from 35 years of age to 29 years of age. This was an expected impact of the opening of a new state university campus about five miles away.

a. What do you need to review and analyze in order to ensure that you can provide the services required by this changing population in your area?

b. Are there any departments in your hospital that may need to be added or expanded? If so, specifically, which services?

Day by day the life expectancy of population are decreasing due to the modernization of life in all ways they are becoming older or more prone to get the diseases in the younger age itself.The present day population are following unhealthy eating behaviours,lack of physical activity,sedentary life,unhealthy life styles such as addiction to alcoholism and cigarrete smoking.

In the data shows that the median age in a county or the area ahows that there is a declination from 35 years of age to 29 years of age.THe people are becoming older in the younger age itself due to the health problems.These results impact an idea of opening of a new state university campus.

a.For starting a new university campus to accesss the health needs of the population we need a collaboration and co-ordination of the all medical departments,stake holders,community groups,accreditation bodies,and government agencies and other organizations who have the roles in starting a new state university.

As an administrator we have to analyze that which are the hospitals giving care to the patient about five miles away from the 25-mile radius of the present facility,what are the facilities they are providing,what are the advanced facilities the hospitals are providing,whether they are meeting all the demands of the population in that area,how much distance the population in the remote areas to be travelled to access the care,which transportation facilities they are pesently following,the present out-patient access,present admission facilities,in-patient facilities,advanced care and follow ups,bed capacity,staff:patient ratio etc.

According to the analysis there are some hospitals,clinics with out in-patient facilities,lack of advanced facilities such as diagnosis and advanced treatment present in that area,clinics etc we can make a co-operation and co-ordination with these hospitals in that area.

By sharing the partnership with the other organizations helps in sharing the capital cost for facility based services among the participating provider organizations allows us to cost-effectively serve patient's needs.Through this we can develop a good project with minimum cost that will not results in burden for any organization

By sharing the partnership,collaboration and co-ordination among the different organizations meets the community needs with out any negative competitions between the organizations.

By starting a new state university campus we can meet the needs of the population before the occurence of disease itself by early check-ups,early and easy access of care,give timely health education,conducting community health programmes etc thus we can sure a healthy community with out any disease burden and improves the life expectancy of the population.

b.Most of the peoples in the county are suffering with cardio-vascular diseases,Neonatal death,Pregnancy and delivery problems and complications,Psychology problems.

Thus we have to expand the cardiology services with advanced diagnostic facilities and treatment plan,neonatal services mainly expand the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit with adequate facilities to prevent neonatal complications and death,Obstetrics and Gynaecology assessments and diagnostics to prevent complications during the pregnancy and delivery and post-partum and Psychiatric units to be furnished to prevent the population from being to a complicated psychological conditions such as depression,anxiety etc.
