Penicillin:

This product is part of the b-Lactam antibiotics which means that It’s able to inhibit the formation of peptidoglycan cross links in the bacterial cell wall leading to a break down at the bacteria cell wall and decreasing their grow. This is accomplish though the binding of b-lactam ring of penicillin to the enzyme DD-transpeptidase affecting the catalytic effect of this enzyme.

Tetracycline:

This product is able to inhibit protein synthesis by blocking the attachment of aminoacyl-tRNA to the ribosome. Tetracycline could bind to the 30S subunit of microbial ribosomes, affecting the processing of tRNA.

Ampicillin:

This product belong to the same group of penicillin because of its beta-lactam portion. It’s able to penetrate gram positive and several gram negative bacteria. The main difference between Ampicillin and Penicillin is that ampicillin has an additional amino group on its structure which helps to pass trough the pores of the outer membrane of gram negative bacteria.
