Give an example of a Misleading statistic, how you would go about collecting the initial data and the sampling biases and errors involved in the collection of your data that may have lead to the misleading information.
An example of a mis-leading statistic would be the computation of average and median income of households in a district or a city based on telephonic survey. By doing this kind of survey, only those households would be contacted who would have a telephone connection at their homes and the rest would not come under the purview of the survey.
This would definitely skew the data and introduce sampling biases in the data and distort the median and average income computed for the district or the city.

Discuss an example you have of when you thought the information provided was bias or misleading. This could have been an ad, a commentary, or other data source. Your example must be about data.
This week we have been discussing collecting data. As a consumer of data, it is important to understand how readily the results of a survey or experiment can be manipulated. Consider the scenario below which data, or claims from data, can be misrepresented based on sampling bias, wording bias or exaggerated claims. Scenario 2: A large high school would like to know how many students are currently using tobacco products. Eighty students are called to the nurses office at random...

You are interested in knowing if your GPA is within the accepted students range. 1.What is the population of interest? 2. How would you do your sampling? Be specific regarding the type of sampling procedure you would use Is this procedure considered a probability or non-probability sample? Choose another method that would be the opposite...
