Answer: Systemic sclerosis is an autoimmune disorder in which the immune system attacks the healthy tissue because the immune system mistakenly thinks it’s a foreign substance or infection. In this overproduction of collagen takes place which gets accumulates in tissues. By keeping the sheets off the feet of the person who has systemic sclerosis will keep feet warm which can also help to provide padding for feet if he finds it uncomfortable to walk on uneven surfaces. During winters spasming of small blood vessels in feets which reduces blood supply to the area, so by applying the sheets off the feet may help to retain the heat and make him feel comfortable.
