Please help with a response to this peer discussion: Do you know if this is a great response for ordinal level research, if so, why/

Hello professor. Our group topic is focused on informed consent, and the effects that it has if given too soon or too late. Patients have the right to informed consent, and it is the healthcare team’s duty to make sure that it is obtained, and that the patient thoroughly understands his/her procedure at hand. For my article, the ordinal level of research was used. When using ordinal research, subjects can be compared (Houser, 2018). A good example of an ordinal scale would be a customer satisfaction survey, because ordinal scales measures things such as satisfaction, happiness, and level of comfort. My article conducted a study of randomized people who were set to have an elective surgery. “Many patients who sign informed consent documents are not well informed about the procedure they are consenting to; in a study of 100 patients admitted for elective surgical procedures and given procedure-specific brochures, investigators report that 38% of patients could not correctly describe the nature of the surgery/procedure and 54% could not name at least one potential complication.” (Schub, 2017 pg. 2) While conducting this study they were able to ask about the patient’s experience and satisfaction with the informed consent that they received.

Ordinal level research best fits for the student research. In most cases it is a sort where attributes can be ordered. It usually measures variables between things ,here this study researches that the consent was informed or not and it is not ordered or lined up.For example let's take the ranking in the educational institutions where it is in an order from 1st to the consecutive numbers. This study quantifies that how many are aware and how many or not aware of the consent given by them.
