Answer #1

ANSWER :- Iodometry and iodimetry are two common titration methods useful in analytical chemistry.

The main comparison between iodometry and iodimetry titration is that we can use Iodometry to quantify oxidizing agents, whereas we can use iodimetry to quantify reducing agents.

these two types of titration are generally termed as redox(oxidation-reduction) titration.

IODOMETRY:- iodine react with another oxidizing agent an acidic or neutral medium this is the direct method for quantifying oxidizing agent for example:-

Cl2 + 2I —> 2Cl + I2

IODIMETRY:- in iodimetry titrant use free iodine to undergo titartion with a reducing agent this is an indirect method for quantifying reducing agent because KI us used here instead of I2:-

KI+I2    → KI3
