What kind of sampling technique would you recommend for this research topic?
-the passage through menarche among Haitian refugees
Convenience sampling is the most suitable sampling method here.It is also perhaps the easiest method of sampling, as participants are selected based on availability and willingness to take part. Useful results can be obtained, but the results are prone to significant bias, because those who volunteer to take part may be different from those who choose not to (volunteer bias), and the sample may not be representative of other characteristics, such as age or sex. Note: volunteer bias is a risk of all non-probability sampling methods. This method is selected as they are refugees and most of them may not be willing to participate in a study like this, as they are already going through a lot of pain and trauma. Besides that, not all refugees are suitable for the study only the ones who are going through menarche. This makes the most of the random sampling difficult and hence we go through the convenience sampling method as it gives importance to the availability and willingness to take part.
