Answer: The necessary characteristics needed to be A cultural broker are:

  • Any nurse, physician, therapist can be a cultural broker
  • Should understand the need of cultural competence
  • Health educator can be a cultural broker
  • Able to serve community and promote health.

It is not necessary that the cultural broker should be of a particular cultural. The cultural broker should be caregiver works for the community. The cultural broker understands the need of the cultural competence environment for the patients.

Thr needs of the community is determined by the hospital in the states. The assessment should be done every three years as recommended by the ACA. So, it is important to determine the need of the community to understand the necessary need. It is performed to monitor the health of the community members as well as promote the health.

The cultural brokering is necessary because to provide quality of care to the patients. The cultural competence environment provides the comfort zone for the culturally diverse patients and they can easily discuss their problems.
