Answer #1

As we know that,

pH = - log[H+]

Hence, HCl = H+ + Cl-

Since, pH = - log ( 1.5) = - 0.18

We know that, pH + pOH = 14

Hence , the pOH = 14 - (- 0.18) = 14.18

The answer is given correct.

When the molar concentration of an acid is greater than 1M , the pH should be negative.
