BARRIERS TO HEALTH CARE SERVICES FOR UNDOCUMENTED IMMIGRANTS IN THE U.S. _What perspectives do people have (try to find multiple sides)? What solutions do people suggest or what solutions have been implemented (if any)? What solutions, policies, or programs should be implemented in order to address this issue? What are the challenges to implementing the solution you suggest (ideology, financial, etc)? Try to think about the perspective of those who would disagree with you.

Healthy life is the basic requirement of all living being irrespective of any matter.US bring the world class patient care and services to the ill people with the advanced technology. But in a developed country like US it has many restrictions and barriers to healthcare services for and undocumented immigrants.

Some of the reasons for this barrier are as following

  • Policy arena which focuses on both law and policy restricting undocumented immigrants to use the services
  • Financial discrimination
  • Immigrants fear of deportation
  • Bureaucratic obstacles like paper work and and difficult registration process for the immigrants
  • Lack of social and financial capital of the immigrants
  • Confusion if rules and regulations
  • Language or communication barrier
  • Financial cuts from the employer
  • Shame and stigma excistance among the undocumented immigrants

Some of the ways to sort this issues are as following

  • Educating the undocumented immigrants
  • Policy changes like limiting access to healthcare to be done in the ACA
  • Novel insurance option to be provided
  • Expanding safety network services
  • Training the providers for better quality health care
  • It can cover at least emergency and first aid care
  • Immigrants has to be checked for this at the immigration counter and provide adequate information about the consequences if needed during an emergency services
  • Healthcare available workplace
  • Easy documentation and registration process
  • Bringing equal rights for all when it comes to health care needs.
