Answer #1

The process is two-step process, so the output per hour from the step 1 (painting) will be input per hour for the next step- loading oven.

First determine output per hour (capacity) of painting step.

Capacity = (number of resource persons)x(60 mins. per hour/minutes per unit)

Capacity of painting = 5 x (60 / 60 mins. Per unit) = 5 x 1 unit per hour = 5 units per hour

Thus, input to the oven is 5 Units per hour, only 5 units will be loaded per hour in oven

Loading time per unit = 5 mins

Loading time per hour = input per hour x loading time per unit = 5 units per hour x 5 mins per unit = 25 minutes per hour

Fraction of time the oven is loaded = time spent in loading per hour / 60 mins. per hour = 0.4166

Or percentage of time the oven is loaded = 42%

Ans: 42%
