Yes definitely grand theory is useful because it acts like a foundation for the other theories to have its print on it. For instance the grand theory can be resembling the big bang which would explain us the evolution and the origin of the globe and the inhabitants. This theory till today provides us a proof of that out galaxies are still moving and so on.
When we could focus on evidence based practice in an approach integrating the research evidence, expertise and the clients preferences and values. This mainly aims at how to promote the health status and provide care to the affected. When looking back again to grand theory it gives a abstract analysis and theorising of social being so it is clear that the EBP is definitely used on the individual were grand theory can be taken as a base to identify lot of opportunities for the researchers to make it more concrete. On the other hand when we look into translation theory it just explains us the findings are used from basic science to enhance human health. Therefore all the three Grand theory, EBP and translation research are integrated with each other where one provides a base to choose the problem or occurrence other enhances and finally implemented with the generalisation.
