Salbutamol is B2-adrenergic agonist. It topically acts on the smooth muscles of the tracheobroncheal tree , leading to the prominant bronchodilation. Some portion of the drug is swallowed and then absorbed by the gut, which goes into the systemic circulation,although its concentration is very low.
