For a certain engine load, the conditions are given in the below figure. Assume that both the turbine and the compressor are reversible and adiabatic, having also the same mass flow rate. Engine power Engine out P 170 kPa T3 650 C Compressor Turbine Exhaust Inlet air P4 100 kPa P, 100 kPa T, 30 C n0.1 kg/s (a) Calculate the turbine exit temperature and power output. (b) Find the compressor exit pressure and temperature. From Table A.5, R 0.287 kJ/kg-K, p- 1.169 kg/m2, Cpo 1.004 kJ/kg-K, Co 0.717 kj/kg-K, k Cpo/C = 1.4. Hint: You can assume the air behaves as an ideal gas and has constant thermodynamic properties throughout the temperature range of interest.
