Kidney disease. * Used to control high blood pressure. * Used to reduce edema in brain tissues. * It reduce swelling or edema in lungs. * Used for managing hypercalcemia.	Hypotension. Electrolyte abnormalities. Dehydration. Increased sensitivity to sunlight. Hyperuricemia. Hyperglycemia. Hypokalemia. Hyponatremia. Deficiency of thiamine in the body. Ototoxicity.	ASSESSMENT * Assess the intake output of the patient after administration of furosemide. * Monitor vital signs for identify changes in blood pressure. * Monitor electrolytes,uric acid,glucose levels before and after administration of furosemide. * Assess for side effects like dizziness,fatigue,electrolyte imbalances,muscle cramps etc. INTERVENTION / TEACHING. * Instruct patient to careful when changing positions to minimize risk of orthostatic hypotension may occur due to diuretics. * Prepare a sodium rich diet plan for the patient. * Instruct the patient to contact health care provider if any abnormal changes occur in the body after taking furosemide. * Instruct the patient to do not stop the medication without the order of a physician. * Educate the patient to routine weight checking and if weight gain is higher consult the physician.
