Organic means something related to living matter.

It deals with something that is produced by use of pesticidines or fertilizres that are of animal or plant origin. There is no use of chemical pesticides, growth hormones or antibiotics etc.

organic foods are those food items which are raised in as natural way as possible. There is no employment of chemical fertilisers, pesticides, growth hormone injections or antibiotics. Any problem encountered in growing these foods is dealt with in natural way such as with usage of fertilisers and pesticides of animal or plant origin. Weeds may be removed manualy or by the use of birds or animals. They should be grown on the land where no prohibited substances have been applied for 3 years prior to harvest.Soil fertility and crop nutrient management must be done in a manner to improve soil conditions, minimize soil erosion.

Organically Grown Meat, Poultry, Eggs and Dairy are also available where livestock must be fed rations composed of agricultural products, pasture and forage that are organically produced and, if applicable, handled
organic foods are quite in demand nowadays because of increasing awareness among citizens about them. Many diseases are attributed to the usage of conventionaly raised foods ss there is reckless use of chemical pesticides, growth hormones., Antibiotics etc. Usage of chemical fertilizers , antibiotics, irradiation etc increases crop output or decrease the damage to crops by various duseases but they have adverse impact on consumers’ health. Moreover these foods have more nutrients and long shelf life aa compared to convenionaly grown foods.organic foods have better taste, color and flavor.

Organically grown foods are good for environment too as they are cultivated using farming practices that can work to preserve and protect the environment.Organic farming practices may be able to greatly reduce carbon emissions associated with production and transport of synthetic fertilizers, and carbon sequestration (retention) by agricultural land could be greatly increased through organic farming practices

Most of the organic foods are costly as the they are grown on small farms and labour intensive.

USDA ( US department o agriculture) is responsible for developing organic standards in US. USDA forbids the use of sewage sludge, irradiation, or genetic engineering in any certified organic food, and at present, certified organic food is one of the few ways that U.S. consumers have to guarantee the absence of these practices from a food's production.

so organic foods are worth to eat.
