Pith ball is neutral ,it's doesn't mean that pith ball have no charge.This simply means that the net charge on the pith ball is zero that means pith ball have equal number of positive and negative charges.

When we brought positively charged rod close to the neutral pith ball then the ball gets polarised (as shown in the pic).

Since ball have equal number of +ve and -ve charges then the net force on the ball will cancle out.

Finaly "option e" will be the correct answer.
