The hexaaqua titanium (III) is an octahedral d2 complex. It undergoes d-d transition, because of this d-d transition this complex shows the violet color. During transition fro t2g to eg it absorbed the light from the yellow region(560-580 nm) as a result it gives the complementary color i.e violet.
