Answer #1

40. Fatty acid synthase are enzyme required for the production of fatty acids. They are derived from carbohydrates in cytoplasm. It needs the presence of NADPH which is oxidised which then helps fatty acid synthase to perform its function. It doesn't require acetic acid as substrate but instead it converts malonyl CoA and acetyl CoA. It requires NADPH as electron donor. And it is a multi protein enzyme.

Answer is C.

41. Beta oxidation of acyl CoA into acetyl CoA occurs in the mitochondria of a cell. The oxidation produces 1NADH fromNAD+ and 1 FADH2 from FAD in the mitochondria.

Answer is D.

42. Acidosis occurs due to action of lungs and kidneys. It is not related to liver

Ketosis is done by liver which converts acetyl CoA to acetoacetate, which is further converted to beta hydroxybutyrate.

Gluconeogenesis is the production of glucose from non carbohydrates types substance. It takes place in liver

Glycogenesis is the process of producing glycogen from glucose in liver.

Glyceroneogenesis is a process which synthesises glycerol-6-phosphate from molecules other than glucose. This occurs when glucose level Decreases. It occurs in liver

So it is evident that the answer is b.

43. Deamination in the body occurs by transamination. Transamination is the process of removal of amine groups from amino acid.

Answer is D.

44. Degradation of amino acids produces pyruvate which then become precursor of gluconeogenesis.

Answer is E

45. Epinephrine and nor epinephrine are produced from amino acids tyrosine and phenylananine.

Answer is B.
