Answer #1

The correct answer is

Question 1

The correct option is option b

In methanol poisoning we give ethanol as it act as competitive inhibitor

Both ethanol and methanol do Compitition for single enzyme alcohol dehydrogenase

Ethanol has better affinity with alcohol dehydrogenase so it bind and doesn't allow methanol to bind with alcohol dehydrogenase so the more toxic chemicals such as formaldehyde are not formed and methanol is excreted through the kidney

So correct answer is competitive inhibition option B

Question 2

The correct answer is option D

Fatty acid oxidation is a catabolic pathway because

A fatty acid is broken into acety coA

A bigger molecule is broken into small acetyl coA

There are 3 parts of fatty acid oxidation

1. Activation of fatty acid

2. Transport

3. Beta oxidation

The end product acetyl coA is send to citric acid cycle or TCA
