The approved or recommended dose of colchicine in acute gout management is , starting loading dose of 1.2 mg , followed by 0.6 mg every 1 or two hours, and it is available as 0.6 mg tablet. Hence take 2 tablets as starting dose then 1 tablet 2 hourly till the relief of pain. And the maximum total dose of colchicine is 6 mg means 10 tablets in acute gout.
