ANSWER- Process of blood coagulation and clotting

1)PLATELET ADHESION-: Intially platelets are stick to the damaged part of blood vessels due to the absent of anti platelet agents (nitric oxide, prostacyclin & ADP dephosphatase) and presence of all Von- willi brand factor (from damaged endothelial cell)

2) PLATELET RELEASE REACTION-: Due to the adhesion platelet become active and their characterstics change , they extend finger like projection and interact with one another.

Platelet release Serotonin, Thromboxin A2, ADP and Calcium ion this process is called platelet release reaction.

3) PLATELET AGGREGATION- Serotonin and thromboxin A2 are strong vasoconstrictor and platelet aggregator.

Due to the serotonin and thromboxin A2 other platelets are stick on the damaged site. Due to the extensive gathering of the platelet form a mass of platelet is called platelet plug.

Platelet plug is very effective for microinjury or micropuncture.

COAGULATION / BLOOD CLOTTING-

Normally blood remain in the liquid form as long as it present into the blood vessels. When blood comes out from the vessels it form a gel like substance is called CLOT.

Clot is consist of insoluble fibrin thread where blood cells are trapped.

Blood clotting is a series of chemical reaction in which several clotting factors are used.
