Rousseau’s view on the education was, education should be used to nurture the interests and natural abilities of the child rather pouring too much of the information into the child. Education has to be based on the natural impulses. Childs brain naturally has rich depository of the positive instincts and the education, which enables these instincts to be real is the best education.
Education is all about following your own curiosities as well as interests. Teacher has to focus on the answer of the child’s question rather imposing his own views on the kids. Every mind is unique in its form, so the natural tendency and interests present in the mind has to be given the top priority.
According to the Rousseau, acquisition of the information and the knowledge has to be based on our experiences as well as on our surroundings. Moral training gained from the natural processes is most effective in comparison to the moral training provided by the tutors at school. Rousseau emphasized that; tutor has to focus on the individuality of the child in order to get insight of the child’s ability to nurture.
Rousseau views about the education have contributed greatly toward the betterment of the education in the society. In fact his ideas laid the foundation of the fraternity, equality and liberty in the society. His views altered the aims, interests, discipline and the curriculum of the education.
