Solutions For An Introduction to Brain and Behavior Chapter 15 Problem 4R4

Step-by-Step Solution

Solution 1

Brain is the part of central nervous system that lies within the cranial cavity. Cerebrum is the largest and most superior part of the brain. It consists of two hemispheres namely; right and left hemispheres.

Although both the hemispheres regulate the basic activities of the body such as the motor functions, intellectual functions and sensory functions, one side of the brain mainly concerns with certain activities than the other side. This is known as “hemisphere dominance.”

As the processing of hemispheres is different, their think process is different. In general, the left hemisphere is dominant for the logical and analytical functions, but the right hemisphere is less involved in these functions.
