Cognition is an act of knowing, it is used to represent thought process in psychology. One of the unique characteristics of human thought process is, language. Although all other animals use sounds to communicate, it is non-verbal.
Language enables humans to plan their behaviour, categorize information, and flexibility in the thought process.
