Freshwater wetland is again divided into three groups. They include marshes, bogs, and swamps.

2. Marshes are the wetlands that are shallow and are present along the rivers. Such wetlands contain water either throughout the year or during particular season of the year.

3. Swamps are similar to the marshes with an exception that swaps are often formed due to the flooding of river. They also and often contain many trees and small shrubs.
