Describe the cyclical process by which schools of thought begin, prosper, and then fail.

Step-by-Step Solution

Solution 1

The school of thought was all a result of a protest. As new generation of psychologists is made, they do not have similar thinking, as that of their senior counterparts. They end up creating a new association of people with same ideas.

The older generation of psychologists, having an emotional connection with their ideas, is not ready to part with their traditions. On the other hand, the younger ones are more likely to abandon the older version.

The cycle of a school of thought begins with a strong idea. The idea flourishes and leads to many discoveries. New theories are made and more members are recruited to expand it. However, in time, the newer generations rebel against the doctrine of their seniors and bring about the destruction of ideas, thoughts and philosophies.

What once stood as a strong thought is taken down aggressively by the eruption of new ideas, thoughts and systems. A new school of thought begins with similar ideas, then goes on to prosper.

With flourishing inputs from the combined work of both older and younger generation, the school is established. With time, opposition begins, and dissolves the pre-existing ideas, and is replaced with new advanced one, which is in sync with the present time.
