Trade mark: Any symbol or words or design which is legally registered to a company as it's representation is called trade mark.
If I am entering the market and want to develop my business first I will decide what type of product I will be manufacturing or supplying. I will give a name to my company which will be brand name for my company.
I will assign a symbol or a design as my company representation which will help people to easily identify my products after seeing that trade mark or just reading the name of my company. With these trade mark and brand name I will use marketing strategy to promote my goods into market by advertising which will help people to recognise my Products easily with trade mark and name of my brand.
I will keep an application to US government by submitting the design or symbol and proper documentats. After verifying those documents and symbol than they will allocate me my trade mark which cannot be used by any other company.
