Sampling is considered as a procedure used in the statistical analysis that uses the number of observations from a large set of observations. Sampling in research is completely dependent on the type of research and analysis. However, it may include systematic and random sampling. It is done to produce authentic and accurate results. Main purpose of sampling in the research is to find proper representative samples while avoiding bias. There are five different types of sampling. These include the random, convenience, stratified, systematic and cluster.
The quantitative research is more valuable and accurate then the qualitative research. This is because of the numerical and experimental data. However, the qualitative research focus on the non-numerical date which is less reliable then the numerical or quantitative data. However, the numerical data in the quantitative research can also have some disadvantages. It can lead to false focus on the numbers, difficulty in setting up the preferred research model and it can also be misleading to the researcher. Moreover, the qualitative data is used to have greater understanding of the research in terms of feelings, behavior, perceptions and focus. But, it can lead to misleading conclusions as it is not supported by any statistical representations.
