"The Yellow Wall paper" , is the story written by an American writer Charlotte Perkins Gliman which was published in a Magazine of New England.

The story actually narrates about a young woman, who was a wife to a toxic husband who further ill treated her and where she suffered from a nervous depression after the birth of the baby. The couple had to stay in a room upstairs which is covered with yellow wallpaper. The narrator clearly explains the degree to which the woman was imprisoned by her husband. She describes the story as scratched wall paper, barred windows , a bed which was on the floor, metal rings in the walls which shows the depression and suffering of the woman.

Gliman see women as the professional and societal suppressors. Men and also physicians thinking that women were physically and mentally weak, acting or showing superiority. She believes that this is the most serious cause for the differentiation of roles in the societey.Gliman in fact wrote this story to convey to her physician husband about his wrong ways towards her. Also the story depicts about the narrator real experience with her husband ways and torts towards her. After suffering lot of years she was bed ridden.

The cost to the women is mental depression, but she narrated yellow wallpaper to save many women to be crazy with the sufferings. Putting back forth all the suffering she had diagnosed the disease and finally took a rest cure.
