Explain patient hepatitis A is a contagious liver infection caused
by the hepatitis A virus. this is an illness that lasts for a few
weeks and months. Hepatitis caused by drinking and eating
contaminated food and water that has a virus.
Underlying principles:
Eating contaminated fruits, vegetables and foods cause this
infection, the main route of infection through the fecal-oral
route, travel to a place where the high risk of this infection,
illegal drugs, poor sanitation and hygiene cause this infection.
this disease can be diagnosed through IgM antibodies and IgG
antibodies test.
Nursing interventions:
Educate the patient about good hygiene, handwashing technique
before and after eating, and toileting. vaccination for children
under 1 year will be appropriate as a first dose. second dose
vaccine for long term protection. vaccines for vulnerable people
who cause infection is important. Monovalent inactivate hepatitis A
vaccine as secondary cause prevention for hepatitis A should be
given within 2 weeks of exposure prophylaxis.
