The attached article from Healthline discusses
the stigma attached to mental illness and how that stigma detracts
from people seeking treatment.
Why do you think there is a difference between treating physical
and mental illness and what can we do to wipe out the stigma? Talk
more openly about it, write about our own experiences, or just help
someone we know when we recognize there is a problem?
Ans: The stigma is very awkward word but it is reality that every mental illness person should face guilty or stigma from their relatives, neighbour and from the people of their states. The reason behind facing such problem is lack of knowledge among that regarding mental illness and how to handle that mental patient.
There are various mental illness like phobias,Schizophrenia, loneliness ,OCD, PTSD, etc. In which the patient required sympathy, help ,observe from their relatives , neighbour or from other people ,instead that people should give social isolation which make the patient situation more worse and if the mental illness patient is from poor family then really a worse situation he or she face due to their surroundings people.
It is very important that a proper education should be given to the people so that their imagination of seeing the mental people is changed that is very important because the physical behaviour which we do with that mental illness people should also affect their health indirectly and which depressed that mental illness completely which make their condition more worsed.
